What is the God of War Amazon Series about?
According to the show’s official description, the TV Series will follow the 2018 reboot of the game series, meaning it will take place in the Norse realm of Midgard. The description reads “When his beloved wife dies, Kratos sets off on a dangerous journey with his estranged son to spread her ashes from the highest peak — his wife’s final wish. Kratos soon realizes the journey is an epic quest in disguise, one which will test the bonds between father and son, and force Kratos to battle new gods and monsters for the fate of the world,” which is essentially the plot of God of War (2018).
Although the series will be set in ancient Scandinavia and focus on Norse mythology, it seems like Kratos’ Greek past will also be featured. Sony Pictures TV president Katherine Pope said that “Rafe [Judkins], Mark [Fergus] and Hawk [Ostby] are crafting a transportive series that charts a path through the ancient mythological journey of Kratos.”
